I wasn't aware that this trend had to do solely with automation. I don't
disagree with Dave's post, but I think there are other contingencies--
Farmer's subsidies and quotas that basically make it more profitable to
let a field sit fallow, less expensive produce from other countries-- I
can't yet see south east asian rice farmers sitting back and watching TV
while the rice robot sweats in the field.
