One of the best assumptions I added to my personal psychology model
(several years ago) is:
"Question the origin of my thoughts. Just because I experience them does
not mean I created them!"
This is wonderful for expurgating all sorts of irrational
self-destructive garbage before it ever hits action, speech, and/or
writing. Efficiency isn't 100%, but it's better than 0%.
