I'd tend to agree with this. However, to play Devil's Advocate, doesn't the
memesphere of the concious mind influence and, in some cases, profoundly
affect the subconcious? For example, many people who become infected with
the <God> meme become possessed with a fear of divine wrath. This,
arguably, comes from the subconcious, but it's influenced by the <god> meme
in the concious.
This, of course, begs the question of what's in a person's subconcious, a
terribly difficult question to answer...
