Secondly- the above statement is your thesis in precis- the possible
genetic predisposition to believe in something, religious for lack of a
better term, but as this discussion was a major thread in a skeptic list
I am in, a 'comforting' belief was the operating term.
A good case is made. It is not applicable to me personally, but I can see
how such a description of human nature fits the observations.
I will admit I am still floundering as to how valid this observation is.
I am not satisfied as to its depth. It smacks mightily of apologia, not
demonstration. It may be me, but I still find myself clutching fog when I
try to refute this position.
