virus: Thoughts and Metaphors

Eve has given me a lot to think about these last few days, and here's
what I've got so far.

I began to search for more metaphors dealing with ideas and concepts. I
found one area of metaphors that Eve didn't mention: the idea that ideas
are linear, or non-linear. "Put it on the back burner." "Sleep on it."
are examples of non-linear thinking. But there are also metaphors that
indicate that thought are linear: "Never Whistle While You're Pissing"
is a good example. So the thought occured to me: which metaphor is
right? Are thoughts linear, or non-linear? Or are they both?

Just wondering.
