I have received so much flack over this I started doubting
my own sanity. But here it is from the dictionary:
rational
1. using reason or logic in thinking out a problem
2. in accordance with the principles of logic or reason; reasonable
3. of sound mind; sane
4. endowed with the capacity to reason
I was using the word in the senses of #2 and #3. Now how
is that "non-standard" for Chuck's sake?!
