No. I think human greed is genetic. I think the drive to devour
everything on the planet that can be devoured is genetic. I think
we will continue to take more out of the ocean than we can eat
and throw away what we don't want because that is what we have
been genetically programmed to do. Government subsidies have
nothing to do with it. Too many people depleting the stock of fish
in the ocean has everything to do with it. The fact that they are
also depleting the stock of trees, plants and minerals from the
earth is part of a genetic program. This is what we have to fight
against with memetic programming. Not government subsidies, but
what those subsidies are paying for. We would do it if there were
no subsidies. What will we do when there are twice as many people
on Earth doing it? If the supplies of fish are being depeleted
with the number of people we have now, in a short time there will
be no fish left in the ocean but twice as many people wanting them.
