Yep and I wanted to say that if people would respect the work of others,
we'd be progressing very rapidly in our knowledge. I think it must
be quite distressing for somebody like Richard Brodie, for example
who has devoted much of his time to write a book when people dismiss
off-hand his ideas.

Just hang on, the paradigm shift will occur.

But remember this, the real master between genes and memes is
structured information. See physical theory of information at the
Santa Fe Institute. See also Turchin's MetaSystem Transition theory
at the PCP site.

And check out Mitchell Waldrop's "Complexity".

There are chaotic systems and ordered systems. Those systems which are
near the edge of chaos can store, process and transfer information :
they have spatio-temporal stability, and they're the ones that are
"selected" by the environment.

Variation-selection everywhere. First and foremost, preserve the variation.
