Well, my second example was kind of intended as a snide answer, but... I
agree that astrology could be used successfully to meet people, though I
suspect that someone who uses it to get laid is probably calculating enough
*not* to believe in its "conventional" use: predicting one's best course of
action based on position of the planets, etc.
However, I can also imagine someone who genuinely believes in astrology's
conventional uses and also uses it as a way to start relationships. In that
case, astrology could both help them (with relationships) and hurt them
(due to poor choices of actions based on their horoscope).
I guess all I was trying to get across is that beliefs have
effects/consequences, and sometimes it's not easy to reap the benefits
without suffering the drawbacks.
