It effectively means that all processes in a closed system use more
energy than they can make. When you convert information from one form to
another, you use energy, more than you gained in the process. Since
energy - matter and information are interchangable, this applies to all
of these.
If you have trouble with this, I'll do the 200 line explanation, but I
don't think you will, it is pretty simple really.
