If i was to imagine an existing god, then i would imagine it as the sum
of all matter, enery and time. I would use Buckminster Fuller's idea
Universe = God. I can live with the idea you posit - "I see him as the
force that brought all of what we see into being" I love the next line
too "My choice to personify him is
that this works for me and it keeps me from knowing that I am really
talking and praying to myself ;0)"
it seems to me that you are aware that you are simply massaging your own
ego when you pray, and choose to think of it another way in order to
trigger feelings you prefer. I cannot, nor do I wish to, argue against
this viewpoint. In fact, i like it and feel that this is a rational
perspective.
I agree with all the Christian stuff you said too. The USofA is a
Christian country that oppresses all who are not Christian and many who
are. It's fabric is so intwined with our mindset that it is impossible
to totally seperate oneself from it's influence - but dammit I'm gonna
try!
