The relationship with rationality, for me, is that rat.
can help build the infrastructure required for the
moment, in many contexts, though the immediate
precursor, I tend to find, is more likely to be
something like pattern-matching, than logic. And
that precursor -- I mean the actual insight that
causes the rush -- tends to come "out of the blue",
ie up from the unconscious mind, or at least one
of the patterns being matched does, where I've
been consciously pondering the other. Ie,
inspiration. So there's no conflict with rat., as I
see it, but on the other hand rat. doesn't play
a helluva big part in it, either.
