But don't the authors become special and extraordinary and immortal in the
process of becoming great vectors? I don't mean to imply that ordinary
mortals can't become saints, but they won't still be ordinary mortals
if they do.

I like what I have read of Huxley's. First I think we should discuss
the process. For example, maybe after someone nominates a great author
for sainthood (perhaps following some previously established guidelines),
a group of advocates could put together a web page describing how and
why they are such a great vector. Then, if everything is kosher, it
could be put to some kind of vote, and if that passes, the web page
is linked to the "official" Virian saint page.
