You missed one of the most fascinating lessons in manipulation (which is not
over yet, so pay attention). The lesson is so important that the University
of TeTa (UoTT) has hired me to make this summary:

A dangerous notion. The Nazis didn't misunderstand anything. They were
schooled in the Four Principles, which I never repeat, because anyone
who knows them can easily create a runaway movement. But no
misunderstanding is needed, just the right mix of memes.
David Rosdeitcher, Date: 18 Feb 97 08:42:37 EST
Thanks for protecting me from runaway movements by keeping the Four Principles a
secret.
Myself, Date: Thu, 20 Feb 1997 15:25:33 -0800
(has anybody done the search for "Four Principles", Richard asked for?).

Manipulation 101 Lesson #10 Manipulation by Using Notions Of "Higher Authority".
Example A: Using Live Examples
A great technique to manipulate people is by suggesting to them that there
are higher powers than their own mind that can control their thoughts and
everyone else's. Imply that you have access to those higher powers. This will
induce in them a sense of fear and respect for you, as their latent tendencies
to follow and obey external authority are exploited to your advantage. Here is
an example:

It's not only possible, but a main way that sophisticated modern mind
viruses work. Hitler spread his Four Principles in his speeches. Taken
together, they cause the host to become a Nazi. His experiment was
repeated successfully in only a few days by a high school teacher in
Palo Alto, California a few years ago. The teacher quickly disbanded the
class.
David McFadzean, Date: Sun, 16 Mar 1997 13:30:26 -0700
I'm not sure why you are keeping these Four Principles secret. I have
no doubt that they are dangerous in the wrong hands, but surely the
best way to combat them is to expose them for what they are.
Myself, Date: Mon, 17 Mar 1997 02:43:47 -0800
Oh, Richard, please, please, please. We are all dying to know. Let me
guess... The First Principle is to divide people into different categories,
like Level-2ers and Level-3ers.
Do I win my $500?

Would someone mind filling me in on Hitlet's Four Principles, either here
or in email, or tell mw where to find them, so as to better follow this
converstaion? I promise not to become a fascist. ;)

Ah, the Principles are a secret, hmmmm? Maybe this list needs a FAQ. ;)
Tony Hindle, Date: Wed, 19 Mar 1997 02:29:20 +0000
This four principles thing sounds very dodgey Richard.
Frankley I dont believe that you believe that there are four
principles that are this dangerous. Censorship certainly can be
dangerous. Why dont you give us just one or two of these
principles. (warning a man in Cambodia accidently got to know 3 of
these principles and wiped out several million people there).
Tony Hindle.
4 is the number of principles. 3 being one principle too few and
5 being one too many, 4 shall it be and thus it is 4 not 3 or 5....
....6 being right out.

"Surely"? I'm not so sure! I take being a vector for evil memes very
seriously.

How come you are supporting Level-3 supremacy evil meme?

OK, this is fine, but I also posited that individually the memes
are inactive, and almost undefinable. Can this happen, do you think?
Hitler's Four Principles were definable memes in themselves, surely.

I think in hindsight you can always go back and see what the ingredient
memes are, but the trick is to get by people's defenses.
